MyEtherWallet (short for MEW) is an open-source, JavaScript-based client-side tool for setting up Ethereum Wallets and sending transactions. Instead of storing their Ether on exchanges, individuals can utilize it to establish new wallets and save it on private keys. The user's PC is where the entire process takes place, not a server. As such, you are responsible for safely backing up any new wallets you establish.
