Business Description

Loft insulation is easy if you protect it correctly. Loft insulation can be a tricky business so protect it from water damage and protect your health. Insulation is one of the most important elements of loft conversion and many people underestimate how much work insulating your loft will take as well as the cost involved in doing so. The materials needed to complete this project are quite time-consuming – especially when installing insulation in an existing building, but they will protect you from cold drafts coming into your room all year round, improving its efficiency and comfort level. Check for holes in the roof space area where rats live or birds build nests. These holes should be properly covered using special loft waterproof membranes, which are designed to protect the loft insulation from water damage. If you have a wooden roof make sure it is well sealed on all sides and edges by using sealing tape or sealant so that no water can get inside the roof space. Use thermal insulation boards in ceiling joists areas where there are gaps between ceiling and roof and also use insulation bats for filling spaces between rafters if needed. If already installed, check attic flooring carefully, removing any nails sticking out as they may be used by birds as resting places which will create dents in the boards of the flooring surface of your loft. Make sure that access holes left after running wires for electricity into your attic do not have to be large enough for a rat or mouse to come in. It is not only birds that can nest in your loft space, but they can also be taken over by other wildlife such as squirrels, moles, or even snakes! So protect your insulation and keep these animals out of the area.
